A Wisconsin woman allegedly "kissed" her dying boyfriend and then begged her friend to "tell the cops he stabbed himself" after she allegedly stabbed him in the chest herself.

Samantha Jean Krebs, 39, was charged with first-degree intentional homicide after a pair of witnesses allegedly walked into the Appleton apartment she shared with her boyfriend, only identified as J.J.C., and found him bleeding out on the floor in the kitchen.

What was supposed to be a night to "shoot the s--- and play some games" instead turned into an absolute nightmare. The male witness allegedly entered the apartment and saw the victim bleeding out on the floor moments after saying hello, a criminal complaint, obtained by Law&Crime, revealed.

"Holy f---," the man allegedly said. He then said he and his girlfriend were met by Krebs, who was standing over the body in the kitchen. The witness said Krebs "looked [him] dead in the eye, and she said, 'Just tell the cops J.J.C. stabbed himself." She went on to say she "can't go back to prison."

The female witness told the cops, according to the complaint, that "she 110% believes Samantha stabbed J.J.C.," a belief only reinforced by the fact that her boyfriend had told her Krebs "has an extensive record for this kind of behavior."

Wisconsin court records obtained by Law&Crime do, in fact, show that Krebs has several prior convictions that span from 2011 to 2022, which include battery, meth, cocaine and heroin possession as well as injury by negligent use of a weapon or explosive.

The male witness allegedly called an ambulance after discovering the gruesome scene in Krebs' apartment in Appleton, a small city just 30 miles southwest of Green Bay. As he did, Krebs allegedly "kissed" her dying fiancé, told him she "loved him" and then left "calm" but with "haste," according to the man.

He had allegedly told Krebs she needed to go and then helped her look for her wallet and keys. The vehicle she left in allegedly didn't have any plates. She had also been in a state of "panic" when she left, it was reported.

After leaving, court documents reveal that Krebs drove to the home of another witness, who had apparently helped the victim secure Veterans Affairs benefits and mental health treatment. The cops found Krebs there shortly thereafter, and the third witness reportedly "questioned why Samantha was arrested."

As she was placed in cuffs, Krebs allegedly said, "I just watched my fiancé kill himself, and now I'm being arrested." She had told the police initially that she had "found out in the newspaper" about her fiancé's death before changing her story, court records indicate.

The authorities searched Krebs' apartment and found handwritten notes they believe to have been written by Krebs about needing to get suboxone, a drug commonly used to treat the symptoms of opioid withdrawal. She had also reportedly written about her wedding plans.

According to court records, one of the notes read, "I lost it and couldn’t breathe couldn’t think speak nothing. I lost my fiance my life w/ had just set a wedding date for June 26th,” one note allegedly said. “I had just bought a dress to go to Family court w/ him to get his son back it Feels not real then to think I lost my future husband now I might loose my Freedom because usually they throw you in jail during any investigation and I would have to drop oFF medications that could possibly kill me from w/drawl. How could this happed to me."

Another note allegedly detailed the stabbing: "I never thought he would until he had something by his side and I don’t think he relized those knives we so sharp, be our other knives super dull he made it look like he was going to Fake me out but it went happened so quickly that I didn’t even relize the severity on the situation till he walk over by the doorby and me holding his side rib stomach I don’t remember all I saw was blood in his hands and he began to Freak out and I asked him to let me see and it was gushing."

Both seemed to have been written with a stream of consciousness. It's not clear when exactly they were written, either, as witness accounts seem to indicate that Krebs rushed out of the apartment after the couple she had invited over allegedly found her standing over J.J.C.'s body.

Krebs was handed a $1 million bond on Monday for the July 18 murder and is set to stand trial in Outagamie County. It's not clear when her next court date is.
