Unlock the Possibilities: Why Everyone Deserves a Library Card

Discover the Accessible World of Libraries

If you reside in the Pikes Peak area and have yet to obtain your library card, take a moment to rethink. One of the aspects that attracted me to joining the Pikes Peak Library District is the inclusivity of libraries as public spaces where everyone is welcome. Your occupation, living situation, age, interests, or social preferences do not matter; libraries are for all.

Unveiling Hidden Treasures

Many new library cardholders express surprise at the vast resources available within the Library District. Libraries cater to diverse interests, allowing you to pursue your passions without straining your finances. Your library card holds more value than you realize.

Beyond the Basics

While you may be aware of the traditional offerings such as borrowing books and DVDs, attending programs, utilizing computers, and seeking guidance from librarians, did you know about the innovative makerspace tools like sewing machines, 3D printers, and laser engravers? The library also provides access to audio and video studio spaces for creating professional content, a service not commonly associated with libraries.

Exploration Awaits

With your library card, you can embark on adventures across the Pikes Peak region and Colorado. State Park Pass backpacks allow exploration of Colorado state parks, while the Pikes Peak Culture Pass provides entry to various local attractions. Stay informed with newspaper databases or engage in interactive play with the Toy Library's offerings for children aged 0–5.

Empowering Programs

Monthly programs at the library offer educational, social, and experiential opportunities. From honing computer skills to exploring new hobbies, these programs promote personal growth and community bonding. Children can benefit from literacy-focused programs like Storytime and Paws to Read, fostering a love for learning and social interaction.
