Topeka police arrest man on aggravated battery count after report of domestic disturbance

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Police have arrested a man following a report of a domestic disturbance in southeast Topeka.

The incident was reported just after 9:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of S.E. 29th Street.

Police officials said it was reported that Alfredo Ramirez Jr., 29, of Topeka, had battered someone who is known to him with a weapon.

Officers made contact with Ramirez and as a result of the investigation, he was arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Jail in connection with aggravated battery, knowingly using physical contact in an angry or rude manner with a weapon.

Police officials said the victim had minor injuries that did not require ambulance transportation to the hospital.

No bond had been set for Ramirez as of 9 a.m. Thursday, according to jail records.
