The Transformation of Lake Elmo: A Visual Spectacle

Lake life: Let the show begin

A Change in Seasons

The Lake Elmo Park swimming beach is closed and drained, leaving the volleyball nets unused. The vibrant colors of maple trees, sumac, and Virginia creeper signal the start of the seasonal transformation. Soon, Long Lake will dazzle us with its stunning morning reflections.

Nature's Preparations

The squirrels are diligently burying acorns from neighboring trees in our yard, a yearly ritual. Their habit of re-burying another squirrel's acorn results in our lawn and flower beds being riddled with holes. A friendly rabbit explores our yard fearlessly, while a sphinx moth gracefully visits our late-blooming impatiens, resembling hummingbirds in the twilight hours.

Embracing Change

Despite the temporary closure of the swimming beach and the changing landscape, the beauty of Lake Elmo remains undeniable. As nature prepares for the coming season, we are reminded of the cyclical and ever-changing spectacle that unfolds around us.
