Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake Shows Signs of Life with New Cash Injection

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake developer, Saber Interactive, has reassured fans that the highly-anticipated RPG is still in the works and receiving a significant financial boost.

Big Investment Secured for KOTOR Remake

Saber Interactive, known for titles like Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and World War Z, recently finalized a deal worth nearly $250 million after parting ways with Embracer Group. This move has allowed the game developer, now an independent entity with 3,000 employees, to secure investments from private equity firms Aleph Capital Partners and Crestview Partners.

Exciting Future Projects Revealed

Highlighting its track record as a top independent game developer, Saber Interactive announced its ongoing projects, which include adaptations of popular franchises like A Quiet Place, Jurassic Park, and the highly anticipated Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake. The company aims to settle financial obligations from the Embracer Group buyout and expand its operations with this recent investment.

Hope on the Horizon for Fans

Despite previous setbacks and delays in the RPG's development journey, the confirmation of continued work on the KOTOR remake brings hope to devoted fans. Following challenges faced during production at the initial developer, Aspyr Media, Saber Interactive took over the project to propel it forward. Recent concerns over potential cancellations were addressed by Saber, with Sony clarifying that the removal of the game's announcement trailer was due to expired music licenses, rather than development issues.

This recent cash infusion and Saber Interactive's commitment to the Star Wars franchise indicate a promising future for the long-awaited Knights of the Old Republic remake.
