Single Mom Travels to 17 Countries with Baby During 3-Year Paid Maternity Leave: An Adventure of a Lifetime

A single mother decided to embark on a unique journey, traveling to 17 countries with her toddler during a three-year paid maternity leave. Sarah Noack, 26, from Frankfurt, Germany, recently concluded her maternity leave and bid farewell to her job as a flight attendant. She found out she was pregnant with her daughter, Luana Noack, in 2021, and due to airline policies, she was required to take a break from work during her pregnancy. Despite not working, Sarah Noack continued to receive her full salary as part of the maternity leave scheme offered by her company. The company also allowed mothers to extend their leave during the breastfeeding phase, which meant Sarah would have the opportunity to travel for additional two years with her daughter.

During her extended maternity leave, Sarah Noack made an exciting decision to explore the world with her newborn. Setting off with a two-week-old baby in tow, she started her journey in Barcelona, Spain. From there, she witnessed her daughter take her first steps on a beach in Bali and utter her first words in Indonesia, creating lasting memories. Sarah Noack shared that despite the challenges one might anticipate, traveling with a baby proved to be easier than maintaining a regular routine in Germany.

Throughout the first two-and-a-half years of Luana's life, the mother-daughter duo visited 17 countries, including stops in Thailand, Portugal, and Cambodia. Sarah Noack expressed her fondness for Nepal, citing its rich culture as her favorite destination. Impressed by the beauty and uniqueness of the country, she described Nepal as unlike any other place she had ever been to.

As a freelance social media manager, Sarah Noack has documented her adventurous journey on Instagram, where she has gathered a significant following of over 60,000 followers. She also hosts a podcast titled 'Hot Mum Things', where she shares insights into her life as a full-time traveling mom.
