S.T.A.R. Event Thrills Residents with Fun Backyard Water Games

S.T.A.R residents had a blast cooling off with exciting water games in their backyards. Walter Rodriguez from the Village of Lake Denham and Mike MacCarthy from the same village engaged in a thrilling water balloon toss during a competitive game of tic-tac-toe at the Backyard Water Games event hosted by S.T.A.R. Activities at Everglades Recreation.

A Refreshing Morning:
Under the bright sun, the participants enjoyed an array of entertaining water games at Everglades Recreation during the latest S.T.A.R. activity. The event, designed for special-needs adult Villagers and their caregivers, featured engaging challenges such as a Tic-Tac-Toe competition, sponge relay, feed the monster, and red cup knockout with water pump blasters.

Outdoor Fun:
Recreation supervisor Amanda Brooks expressed excitement about the change of scenery, stating, "This is a little different for us. You normally see me inside doing a craft, but we are going to do something outdoors today." The hands-on games allowed everyone to participate, ensuring even those who preferred to stay dry could join the fun.

Safety First:
As the festivities unfolded, the staff kept a close watch on the heat index to prioritize the well-being of all attendees. Hydration stations were readily available, guaranteeing that everyone stayed cool and refreshed throughout the sun-filled event.
