Prepare for Fourth of July Ferry Travel: Tips and Reminders for Smooth Sailing

Plan ahead for busy Fourth of July holiday ferry travel

Expecting High Traffic
Washington State Ferries is anticipating approximately 700,000 passengers to ride the ferries during the upcoming Fourth of July holiday period. To avoid any delays, passengers are advised to allocate extra time for travel to the terminal and through the tollbooth.

Utilize WSDOT Mobile App
To ease navigation during the holiday rush, ferry riders are urged to download and utilize the WSDOT mobile app. This app provides access to sailing schedules, allows users to track vessels in real-time, receive rider alerts, and more.

Holiday Schedules and Wait Times
On Independence Day, July 4th, certain routes will operate on holiday sailing schedules. Passengers are encouraged to refer to the specific holiday sailings indicated on the timetables for each route. Due to limited ferry availability, boarding wait times for vehicle passengers may be extended, particularly if car capacity is reduced for unexpected maintenance.

Fireworks Regulations
It is essential to note that the transportation of illegal fireworks is strictly prohibited on all ferries. Prohibited items include missile-type rockets, bottle rockets, M-80s, firecrackers, as well as any homemade or modified fireworks.

Plan your travel accordingly and adhere to all safety regulations for a smooth and enjoyable Fourth of July ferry journey.
