'Peaceful Bangladesh' photo exhibition in New York

A solo photography exhibition in New York to celebrate the International Day of Peace has "showcased Bangladesh’s natural beauty and culture to a global audience".

The "Peaceful Bangladesh" exhibition was co-organised by the United Nations Association of the USA, or UNA-USA, Elham Academy, and Save the People, with support from the Peace Center of the US at the Jamaica Queens Center on Sept 21.

The exhibition featured 20 captivating photographs by renowned Bangladeshi photographer and travel writer Muhammad Mostafigur Rahman, showcasing the beauty of Bangladesh through its stunning landscapes and the peaceful lives of its people.

Republican congressional leader Paul King inaugurated the exhibition at Elham Academy, with Muhammad Shahidullah, outreach coordinator of the UNA-USA Queen’s Chapter; freedom fighter Masudul Hasan; and Sohrab Sarkar present at the event.

Also in attendance was internationally acclaimed Bangladeshi photographer Tanveer Hasan Rohan.

During the opening ceremony, Muhammad Shahidullah commended Mostafigur Rahman, better known as Mustafiz Mamun, for his skills in showcasing Bangladesh’s natural beauty and culture to a global audience.

Chief guest Paul King expressed his admiration for the photographs, noting the breathtaking views of Bangladesh and the depiction of the vibrant, peaceful lifestyles.

At the event, photographer Mostafigur emphasised the importance of such exhibitions in promoting a positive image of Bangladesh and fostering a deeper appreciation of its rich cultural and natural heritage.
