New Miss California Rodeo Salinas crowned after weekend competition

A new Miss California Rodeo Salinas was named on Sunday. Vianette Garcia of Temecula was given this year's crown following a two day competition held at the Salinas Sports Complex. In total, five people were in the running. Contestants were evaluated in categories including personality, appearance, scholarship and horsemanship. Garcia won a $3,000 scholarship, a gold and silver belt bucker, a gold and silver tiara sponsored by the Harden Foundation, the use of a two-horse trailer for the next year, along with other gifts and awards.
