New DakotaBlue Health Plan Options in Fargo for 2025: Better Care, Choice, and Cost

Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) has announced the expansion of DakotaBlue in Fargo and the surrounding area, offering small and large group employers in Ransom, Cass, and Richland counties with affordable coverage from preferred providers, including Essentia Health.

Revolutionizing Health Coverage

BCBSND introduces DakotaBlue, a tiered-network health plan that empowers patients to control their care and out-of-pocket costs by selecting providers from different coverage tiers. The premiums for BCBSND's tiered network plan are up to 15% lower than traditional plans, as insurance providers partner with preferred tiers to offer reduced health care costs.

Care Designed for You

With four tiers of coverage, members receive the lowest out-of-pocket expenses at tier one with preferred network providers like Essentia Health. The plan also covers providers outside the system at tier two, three, and four rates, giving members flexibility and control to choose providers at different levels.

Promoting Wellness and Mental Health

DakotaBlue not only focuses on cost savings but also includes telehealth coverage at no cost, enhancing access to mental health and substance use disorder resources. Every BCBSND health plan offers wellness and preventive care coverage to help members manage their health proactively.

Partnering for Better Health Outcomes

Kristi Huber, BCBSND Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, emphasizes the partnership with providers to develop solutions that lower health care costs and improve health outcomes. The new plan in Fargo builds on the success in Grand Forks and Minot, providing quality care while reducing medical expenses.
