Mother Teresa's Haven Relocates to New Home Above St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen

Mother Teresa's Haven, a shelter for men experiencing homelessness, is making a big move to a new permanent location above St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen.

New Beginnings for the Haven

The shelter, which can accommodate clients for up to 30 days, will offer 20 beds, showers, and laundry facilities to help those in need get back on their feet.

A Beacon of Hope

Funding for this relocation project comes from various organizations dedicated to providing essential human dignity services to the less fortunate. The aim is to create a safe and supportive environment for those experiencing homelessness.

Community Coming Together

The new location, strategically situated above a food and clothing bank, was chosen to ensure easy access to vital services such as career-link, health, and mental health resources. This proximity will make it easier for the shelter residents to access the support they need to transition towards stability and independence.

Strategic Placement for Success

Renovations at the East Jackson Street premise in Wilkes-Barre are currently underway and are expected to be completed by the end of November. This move signifies a significant step forward in providing a comprehensive support system for individuals experiencing homelessness in the area.

A Brighter Future Ahead

The relocation of Mother Teresa's Haven represents a beacon of hope for those in difficult circumstances. By offering not just shelter, but also essential services and support, the shelter aims to empower individuals to regain their independence and rebuild their lives.

A Changing Landscape

With the support of the community and various organizations, this new chapter for Mother Teresa's Haven promises to positively impact the lives of many. As we look towards the completion of the renovations and the opening of the new location, we anticipate a future where more individuals experiencing homelessness can find the help and support they need to move towards a brighter tomorrow.
