If you're a fan of Minecraft and enjoy playing it in virtual reality using Sony's PlayStation VR, you may want to pay attention to the latest news. Developer Mojang has revealed that it will be ending support for PSVR in March next year, bringing disappointment to many players.

End of an Era

Minecraft first added PSVR support back in September 2020 as a free upgrade for the PS4 version. However, the upcoming PS5 edition will not include this feature. Mojang recently confirmed in a post on its website that support for PSVR will no longer be available after March 2025. Despite this change, players will still be able to enjoy the game outside of VR and will receive ongoing updates.

A Shift in Focus

According to the developer, players can continue to build in their worlds and access Marketplace purchases even after the discontinuation of PSVR support. However, using PlayStation VR with Minecraft will no longer be possible with future updates.

Exciting New Features

The news about ending PSVR support was included in the release notes for Minecraft's latest Bedrock version. This update introduces bug fixes, gameplay adjustments, and a new experimental feature called Bundles. Players can create Bundles in-game by combining String and Leather, allowing them to store multiple blocks or items in a single inventory slot.

A Change in Update Strategy

Mojang recently announced a shift in its update strategy for Minecraft. Instead of a single massive summer update, the game will now receive multiple smaller content drops throughout the year. This change aims to provide players with a more consistent stream of new content and features.

As the gaming community prepares for the end of Minecraft's PSVR support, players can still look forward to exciting updates and improvements in the game's future."
