In August of 2014, the Nettleton Family's world turned upside down when four-year-old Mason John Nettleton was diagnosed with Wilms tumor, a rare form of pediatric cancer. Mason John and his mom, Brianna, recently visited the KING 5 studios to share their story and emphasize the importance of supporting families facing similar battles.
A Mission of Community and Support
Driven by their own experience, the Maple Valley family founded Footprints of Fight, a nonprofit dedicated to providing a sense of community for Washington state families with children fighting cancer. Mason John, now a survivor, finds purpose in sharing his journey with other young cancer fighters, offering them hope during challenging times.

Footprints of Fight's primary goal is to alleviate the daily stress that accompanies a child's cancer battle. With research indicating that approximately 300 Washington families receive a pediatric cancer diagnosis each year, the organization's impact is significant. Childhood Cancer Research Fund statistics reveal that one in 285 children will develop cancer before the age of 20, highlighting the urgency of organizations like Footprints of Fight.
