GRAND RAPIDS, MI – A man who illegally entered the United States and later killed his girlfriend – and dumped her body on the highway – has confessed to the slaying that caught national attention.
Brandon Ortiz-Vite, a citizen of Mexico, admitted to fatally shooting his girlfriend, 25-year-old Ruby Garcia, during a plea hearing Monday, Sept. 23, in Kent County Circuit Court.
