KSP: Man charged with murder after crash that killed 2 in northern Kentucky

Henry County, Ky. —

A man has been charged with murder after a crash that left two people dead in northern Kentucky.

It happened on Friday, when Kentucky State Police troopers responded to a crash around 10:22 p.m. on Lagrange Road in Henry County.

KSP said a preliminary investigation indicates a pickup truck, driven by 21-year-old Trustin Hasenauer was driving west on Lagrange Road when it crossed the center line of the roadway and hit a motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle died at the scene. He has been identified as 40-year-old Austin Doane. The passenger of the motorcycle, 31-year-old Holly Hawkins, was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital where she later died.

Hasenauer, who's from Cheyenne, Wyoming, was arrested and charged with murder, operating a motor vehicle under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident/fail to render aid/assist with death of serious physical injuries, failure to render aid, reckless driving, operating vehicle with expired operator license and failure to produce insurance card.

Hasenauer was taken to the Oldham County Detention Center.
