Knox Pride and UT Psychological Clinic Offer Free Mental Health Care for Community

Knox Pride, in collaboration with UT Psychological Clinic, has launched a groundbreaking initiative to provide free mental health care to the community.

Grant-Funded Mental Health Care

Both organizations have joined forces to cover the costs of mental health services through a grant program, ensuring that individuals in need can access essential care without financial barriers.

Eight Free Therapy Sessions and Beyond

Successful applicants will be eligible to receive eight complimentary therapy sessions, with the possibility of extending treatment if needed. Additionally, participants will have access to free psychological testing to diagnose and address any underlying mental health conditions.

Inclusive Application Process

The application process is straightforward, requiring basic information to match applicants with appropriate services. The initiative is dedicated to prioritizing marginalized communities and ensuring that those who need help the most can easily access it.

Prior Success and Future Expansion

In the fall of 2023, Knox Pride was able to assist 145 individuals in receiving vital mental health care. The organization is optimistic about reaching even more individuals this year, building on the success of the previous initiative.

Parental Consent and Online Application

For individuals under the age of 18, parental consent is required to receive treatment through the program. The application process has been simplified and made accessible online since October 11th, streamlining the process for potential participants. This initiative serves as a beacon of hope for those struggling with mental health issues, offering a lifeline of support and care to the community. By prioritizing inclusivity and accessibility, Knox Pride and UT Psychological Clinic are working together to make a positive impact on mental health care in the region.
