Texarkana Partners with State of Texas to Revitalize Keep Texarkana Beautiful Program

Texarkana, Texas (KSLA) - Texarkana's Keep Texarkana Beautiful program has recently joined forces with the State of Texas in an effort to boost the program's growth and impact. City officials reveal that the initiative, which was established in 2010, had lain dormant for some time. However, approximately two years ago, a revitalization process was set in motion to breathe new life into the Keep Texarkana Beautiful program.

A New Chapter Begins

Brooke Stone, a spokesperson for the City of Texarkana, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with Keep Texas Beautiful, a prominent statewide organization dedicated to litter prevention and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of neighborhoods, city parks, and public spaces. The primary goal of the local branch is to foster environmental responsibility among the residents of Texarkana. By aligning with the state agency, the local program anticipates significant growth opportunities.

Expanding Horizons

Stone elaborated on the benefits of this partnership, stating, "Being a part of this program enables us to access various grant opportunities, which will play a crucial role in funding upcoming projects. Additionally, we now have the privilege to engage in partnerships with other affiliates under the Keep Texas Beautiful umbrella."

Taking Action

In a bid to kickstart this newfound collaboration, Keep Texarkana Beautiful has scheduled its first cleanup project on Saturday, Sept. 28. The cleanup endeavor will concentrate on enhancing the cleanliness and allure of the Beverly, New Town, and Rose Hill areas in Texarkana.

This partnership between Texarkana and the State of Texas signifies a positive step towards the rejuvenation and expansion of the Keep Texarkana Beautiful program.
