Huawei Unveils nova Flip with Dual OLED Screen and 50MP Camera, Priced Competitively

Huawei has recently introduced the latest addition to its lineup of foldable phones, the nova Flip, setting it apart as the first foldable device within the nova series. Contrasting with the conventional foldable phones available today, the nova Flip unfolds akin to a classic flip phone, providing a unique user experience.

Fashionable Accessory Across Bold Colors

Described not just as a technological marvel, the nova Flip is poised to be promoted by Huawei as a 'fashionable accessory' offered in a range of striking colors. Its horizontal folding mechanism reveals a sizable 6.94-inch OLED internal screen from a square outer display. With dimensions of only 6.88mm thickness and a weight of 195 grams when folded, the nova Flip embodies elegance and portability.

Impressive Performance and Camera Capabilities

Equipped with Huawei's Kirin 8000 chip and storage options up to 1TB, the nova Flip ensures powerful performance. The inclusion of a 4,400mAh battery with 66W wired charging support guarantees uninterrupted usage. Moreover, the device sports a remarkable 50MP main camera, complemented by an 8MP ultrawide lens for versatile photography. A 32MP selfie camera is also featured for high-quality self-portraits.

Innovative Features and HarmonyOS Integration

The nova Flip boasts a dual-function outer display, a 2.14-inch OLED screen serving as a notification panel and viewfinder for the rear cameras. Its folding design, combined with a durable waterdrop hinge undergoing 1.2 million bend tests, ensures a seamless transition between compactness and a large-screen experience. Additionally, Huawei's new HarmonyOS is introduced, offering AI enhancements for image editing tasks like subject removal and text extraction.

Competitive Pricing and Color Options

The nova Flip will be available in captivating colors including New Green, Sakura Pink, Zero White, and Starry Black. The 256GB model starts at CNY 5,288 ($744), the 512GB variant at CNY 5,688 ($798), and the top-tier 1TB configuration at CNY 6,488 ($911). Pre-orders for the nova Flip will commence on August 10 in China, with direct competition anticipated from devices like the Motorola Razr priced at $450 and Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 5 priced at $999.
