MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Hilldale will welcome four new businesses as part of an expansion in the former space of an AMC Theater.

The shopping center announced Tuesday that businesses Warby Parker, Sephora, Sweetgreen and Jaxen Gray will all open in the coming months.

AMC Madison 6 closed at the end of 2022, making way for the new 40,000-square-foot expansion.

General Manager of Hilldale Nanci Horn said the announcement is an exciting kickoff to the expansion.

“These brands have been requested by our guests and will make excellent additions to Hilldale,” Horn said. “There is so much more to come that we can’t wait to announce. Stay tuned and come see the new stores as they open!”

Eyewear brand Warby Parker will begin the chain of openings in late 2024, with the other three businesses following in 2025. Warby Parker’s State Street location will be closing and relocating to Hilldale.

The opening of contemporary men’s clothing and accessories store Jaxen Gray will mark its first Wisconsin location. It has other locations in Minnesota and Missouri.

“We are very excited to have our first Wisconsin store at Hilldale in Madison,” said company Founder and CEO Michael Druskin. “Hilldale has a great mix of stores that we are thrilled to join.”

This will be the second Madison location for health food restaurant Sweetgreen. Sephora will be opening its fourth location in Madison, with one already in West Towne Mall and two locations inside of Madison Kohl’s department stores.
