KAPOLEI, Hawai'i (island News) -- A late-night crash in Kapolei has left one person dead and another person hospitalized.

Honolulu police and Emergency Medical Services responded to the crash at the intersection of Laaloa Street and Farrington Highway just before 10:30 PM on Wednesday.

According to police reports, the crash involved two individuals. A 61-year-old man, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported to the hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries. A 34-year-old woman involved in the crash was reported to be in serious condition.

Investigations indicate that speed does not appear to be a contributing factor to the accident.

This incident marks a concerning trend, as there have been at least three other crashes at the same intersection in the past month. Authorities are urging drivers to exercise caution in the area to prevent further tragedies.
