Fairview Welcomes Three New Doctors, Clinical Assessments in Progress

Fairview, a town just south of the highway along Highway 2, has exciting news as Alberta Health Services (AHS) has successfully recruited three new doctors to the area. These doctors are currently undergoing a three-month Preliminary Clinical Assessment before they can start practicing.

New Recruits Started Assessment Process
According to AHS, two of the recruited doctors have already started the assessment process this month, while the third doctor is scheduled to begin in August. This development is a positive step towards addressing the shortage of medical professionals in Fairview.

Meeting Requirements
In addition to being recruited by AHS, these doctors have also met all the requirements set by the Alberta College of Physicians and Surgeons. This ensures that they are well-equipped and qualified to provide medical care to the residents of Fairview.

Emergency Room Coverage
Fairview has been facing challenges with doctor coverage at the emergency room, with over 800 hours of absence recorded since the beginning of the year. The recruitment of these new doctors is expected to alleviate the strain on existing medical staff and improve access to healthcare services.

Addressing Medical Staff Shortage
Paul Parks, the president of the Alberta Medical Association, emphasized the importance of recruiting and retaining family physicians to address the shortage of medical staff, especially in emergency care. The arrival of the three new doctors in Fairview is a step in the right direction towards achieving this goal.
