Exciting Summer Events for Children and Families in Berkeley

"Summer Community Events Keep Children Busy"
Summer is in full swing in Berkeley, and children are keeping busy with exciting activities. The Berkeley Modern Quilt Guild recently held a summer sew camp where young campers showcased their creativity by completing quilted table placemats, cup koozies, and key rings. The camp, which started on June 17, has seen great participation with 14 campers, including four young men. A dedicated team of about 12 volunteers, rotating between classes, have been teaching the campers the basics of sewing machines, ironing, pattern-following, and sewing in a straight line. The young participants have been thoroughly enjoying their time at the camp.

The week was filled with fun activities, including crafting picture frames, enjoying a water slide, and savoring delicious meals. The children and parents alike had a wonderful time throughout the week, with Pastor Steve capturing memorable moments through pictures.
