Empowering Young Men: Boys Receive Fresh Looks and Essentials for New School Year at Boys to Men Mentoring Event

Boys to Men Mentoring recently hosted its inaugural Fresh Cuts & Cookout event at its Spring Valley headquarters to prepare young men for the upcoming school year. The event, which welcomed a total of 30 boys, featured barbers from various locations offering complimentary haircuts. Additionally, the boys were equipped with essential school supplies, including backpacks.
Fostering Growth and Community Involvement
The day's activities also included a casual backyard-style BBQ for the boys and their families to enjoy. Boys to Men's In-School Mentoring Program is designed to empower young men through mentorship and community involvement. Established in 1996, Boys to Men has positively impacted over 13,000 boys by instilling the values of listening, acceptance, and encouragement. Currently, the organization oversees 750 boys participating in in-school and after-school programs spanning 39 schools and 12 districts throughout the county, highlighting its commitment to supporting and guiding young men in the local community.
