Discover Louisville's History with 'Footprints Through Time' AR Project

Louisville, Ky. - A new augmented reality project called Footprints Through Time is captivating Louisville residents as it sheds light on the city's past. The (Un)known Project recently launched this groundbreaking augmented reality experience along the Riverwalk, bringing to life three historical places in Louisville through 4-D holograms.

Immersive Historical Experience

Footprints Through Time aims to educate users about the Transatlantic Slave Trade and push boundaries by encouraging people to contemplate Louisville's history. Josh Miller of the (Un)known Project stated, "We have people in Kentucky, people in other states, who don't want this history to be taught. We think that there are really engaging ways to help people think about what are the things I haven't learned about my community, about my state when it comes to the history of enslavement, how it is connected to my life today?"

Honoring Civil Rights Leaders

In addition to the AR experience, the (Un)known Project also paid tribute to prominent civil rights leaders in June with an art installation titled "In Our Elders' Footprints." This installation symbolizes the interconnectedness between the past, present, and future, encouraging visitors to reflect on the legacy of these leaders.

Visitors can explore both "In Our Elders' Footprints" and the AR installation near 10th Street on the Riverfront, making it a must-visit destination for those interested in delving deeper into Louisville's rich history.
