Body found in Willamette River identified as Eugene woman

EUGENE, Ore. – A 51-year-old Eugene woman whose deceased body was found in the Willamette River earlier this week has been identified by authorities, according to the Eugene Police Department.

EPD officials said that police were dispatched shortly before 11 a.m. on October 8 to a report of a body that was found in the Willamette River just east of the Ferry Street Bridge. The victim, identified as Siva Louise McMullen, was found in the middle of the river resting against the center pylon of the bridge, according to Eugene police officials. Police said that the body was recovered with the help of Lane County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue personnel.

While an investigation by Eugene police didn’t indicate anything suspicious in the woman’s death, the Lane County Medical Examiner is continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
