Costa Mesa's Paseo 17 Welcomes Local Foodie Favorites: Mercado Mesa and Rye Goods Set to Open Soon

Two local foodie favorites are set to make a grand entrance at Paseo 17, Costa Mesa's premier dining and shopping destination.
Exciting New Additions
With the announcement of two new tenants, Paseo 17 is gearing up to become a local foodie hotspot. Managed by Burnham Ward Properties, the space will soon be home to Mercado Mesa, an upscale specialty grocery store and prepared food shop, and Rye Goods, an organic sourdough bakery and deli. Both businesses are owned by local female entrepreneurs and have already established a strong presence in Orange County.
Innovative Concepts
Burnham Ward Properties' president, Bryon Ward, praised the resilience and creativity of the two businesses during the pandemic. He expressed excitement about enhancing the community's experience with these curated offerings.
Mercado Mesa - A Culinary Haven
Founded by Summer Tarango, Mercado Mesa is known for its unique selection of high-end ingredients, grab-and-go foods, and food gifts. The store, set to open later this fall, will also feature seasonal produce and meal prep options for busy customers.
Rye Goods - A Bakery Experience
Rye Goods, led by pastry chef Sara Lezama, will be moving to Paseo 17 in 2025. The expanded space will allow Lezama to introduce a new deli menu and an organic wine bar to the bakery. This Costa Mesa location will complement existing stores in Tustin and Laguna Beach.
Exciting Lineup
Paseo 17 will soon be home to Ospi, an Italian restaurant from 'Top Chef' alum Jackson Kalb, in addition to Rye Goods and Mercado Mesa. These establishments will join Milligram Coffee + Kitchen, a European-style cafe already making waves in the area. Ward highlighted the community-focused approach behind the property's recent remodel, aiming to create a social hub for residents and visitors alike.
