A group of Nigerian students and their family members had an amazing time at the annual Parade of Nations in Houghton, Michigan.

Residents of Houghton and Michigan Tech University (MTU) students came together on Saturday afternoon to experience a rich tapestry of cultures during the 35th annual Parade of Nations. Tribal dances, vibrant costumes, and traditional music were just some of the highlights of the event.
Global Representation
Organizers revealed that this year's parade featured thousands of MTU students proudly representing their native countries. Christian Montesinos, one of the lead organizers, expressed his delight at the growing participation of MTU students in the event each year. He mentioned that students from 53 different countries were seen carrying their national flags with pride.
Celebrating Diversity
Montesinos highlighted the significant number of international students at MTU and noted the shift in starting point for this year's parade. He acknowledged the absence of Hancock due to the closure of Finlandia University but extended a warm invitation to residents from surrounding areas to join in the festivities. The parade route took attendees through MTU's campus, culminating at the Dee Stadium where multicultural food was served. This provided a unique opportunity for individuals to engage with various cultures through food, music, and dance.
