The Autumn Harvest festival in Arlington Heights was bustling Saturday with fun family activities as North School Park was filled with crafts, games, hayrides, a scarecrow-building contest, live music and entertainment.
A long line of people waited to get their small pumpkins so they could decorate them with their children.
Marina Treciak and her daughter, Stefania, 4, both of Arlington Heights, decorated their pumpkin with supplied stickers.
Scarecrows were being built everywhere along East Eastman Street.
“They told us to be unique,” said Tina Bradford of Arlington Heights, who with her daughter, Nevaeh, made a unicorn scarecrow wearing a trench coat and a pink onesie.
The festival was organized by the village of Arlington Heights Special Events Commission.
