As part of the ongoing celebration, the center will host the Bright Lights Revealed Series, featuring discussions by Humanities Award recipients Freddi Williams Evans and Dr. Michael White on Sept. 19. On Sept. 21, the Pass It On open mic showcase will pay tribute to John T. Scott, serving as a platform for artists to share their poetry, music, and visual art.

Artist and educator Steve A. Prince will share his experiences under Scott's mentorship on Sept. 26, exploring the fusion of art, history, and community. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in Prince's Watercolor Mono-Types workshop on Sept. 28, immersing themselves in contemporary art techniques. The Helis Foundation John Scott Center, located at 938 Lafayette St., serves as a cultural hub dedicated to preserving and promoting John T. Scott's artistic contributions. The center's 6,000-square-foot gallery showcases Scott's innovative approach to art and storytelling, providing a unique and immersive experience for visitors.
