A new exhibition is set to open at London’s O2 Innovation Building, showcasing the rich history of the Isle of Wight Festival. Commemorating its 25th edition, the exhibition will take visitors on a journey through some of the festival's most iconic moments over the years.

Exploring Legendary Performances

From Bob Dylan's historic set in 1969 to Jarvis Cocker's electrifying performance with Pulp in 2023, the exhibition will feature highlights from festivals past. Notable acts such as Jimmy Hendrix, Amy Winehouse, Mick Jagger, and The Who have graced the festival stage, creating unforgettable musical experiences for fans.

Step Back in Time

Visitors will have the chance to step into the past by exploring a recreation of Ray Foulk's chaotic office, the festival's founder. Experience the energy and dedication that went into organizing the groundbreaking events of 1968, 1969, and 1970. Sculptor Guy Portelli's Wight Spirit, a stunning glass mosaic, will be a focal point of the exhibition, adding a touch of artistry to the celebration.

Reviving a Musical Legacy

The exhibition will also delve into the festival's 30-year hiatus and its triumphant return in 2002. Promoter John Giddings, who played a key role in reviving the festival, reflects on the event's evolution and its significance in the world of music. The Isle of Wight festival has grown from its humble beginnings to attract major artists like David Bowie, Jay Z, and Green Day, solidifying its place as a premier music festival destination.
