Hungry for a Challenge?
Valley Macayo's is currently hosting the 3rd Annual Macayo's Mexican Food Chimi Challenge Championship, where brave souls can put their eating skills to the test.

The Ultimate Chimi Showdown
On Saturday, Sept. 28, the restaurant will hold the championship event, challenging participants to tackle the enormous chimi within the time limit. The chimi consists of a delicious combination of shredded beef, shredded chicken, or ground beef, paired with Mexican rice and refried beans. It is then generously topped with red enchilada sauce, Baja sauce, fire-roasted tomatillo sauce, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, mixed cheese, and jack cheese.

Qualifying Rounds
To secure a spot in the championship, contenders must first participate in the qualifying rounds, taking place at various Macayo's locations. These include Ahwatukee, ASU in Tempe, Avondale, Chandler, Glendale, Goodyear, Litchfield Park, Mesa, Queen Creek, Scottsdale, and Surprise. The winner from each location will advance to the Chimi Challenge Championship.

Who Will Reign Supreme?
In addition to facing off against fellow challengers, qualifiers will also battle the reigning champion from the previous year in their quest for victory.

The Grand Prize
The ultimate champion of the competition will not only earn bragging rights but also walk away with a substantial $2,000 in cash along with exciting prizes.
