Bloomington Pride Festival Showcases Local Talent and Diversity

In a celebration of diversity and inclusivity, the Bloomington Pride festival once again brought the community together in a display of unity.

kicked off the fourth annual event with a captivating performance for the eager audience at Bloomington Civic Plaza. The festival, held on September 22, honored individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and other gender identities.
Entertainment was in abundance at the festival
, with Minneapolis resident Kevin Billups portraying the vibrant character of Lala Luzious. As the emcee and entertainer for three drag queen and king performances by POWER: A Drag Revue,
Luzious
wowed the crowd with their charisma and talent. POWER, a performance group established in 2021, is dedicated to showcasing the diversity and skills of the local drag scene. The group's mission is to uplift drag performers who identify as BIPOC or transgender, ensuring their voices are heard and talents recognized.
