Wisconsin Could Be In For A Big Snowstorm On This Date, Says Farmers’ Almanac

It's going to be winter weather time before we know it.

The last few weeks have given us the fall weather and made it the comfy, cool, crockpot chili season. But the cold, dark productivity-killing snowy stuff is headed for us.

Our first frost has already happened for the 2024-2025 winter but Farmers' Almanac is predicting a particularly hard snowstorm for us at one specific time this winter.

Winter 2024-2025 Overall

So here's the good news: hopefully anyway, this winter isn't looking too crazy, comparatively.

Farmers' Almanac

But the almanac is "redflagging" one specific set of a few weekends as having a "very active storm track" that could bring us a lot of snow, ice, and/or sleet and really strong winds.

They want you to watch out for January 20th-23rd & January 24th-27th.

It's obviously a hot minute away so they don't know the exact track of the storm yet. But they do know it will impact the eastern half of the country, and there's no guess on how much snow it could produce. The Northwest and Texas look to be in for several inches of snow in early February so it's a good chance that around that in either late January or early February, we'll get some amount of snow too.

It's quite a bit later than Wisconsin's big snow earlier this year. An early spring snow dumped almost a foot of snow in some places in both late March and early April.

While this late January/early February system looks to be the snowstorm of the season, for the winter in general, the almanac does predict "above-average precipitation" for the Midwest (which could include rain, not just snow). But on the whole, the forecast for winter 2025 is: wet and cold. We're all prepared for that anyway.

You Could Own The Greatest House In The State Of Wisconsin

There's a home in Wisconsin that everyone in the state would call the best house on the market. The house is reasonably priced for the amount of money you could get out of it. Why does this house sound like a gold mine? Because it sits and looks directly at the heart of Title Town U.S.A., the legendary Lambeau Field, the home of the Green Bay Packers.
