Warming trend this week, weekend changes coming

NEW ORLEANS —

We began a warming trend over the weekend that will continue through the middle portion of this week. Temperatures will be close to normal Monday and Tuesday, and get a little warmer than average by Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but with dewpoint temperature staying in the upper 50s, it will feel very comfortable and very seasonal.

Chances for rain will stay very low through the weekend, although a weak front may be moving through late Saturday or early Sunday. However, this cold front should not produce any rain. The next chance for significant rain is likely coming Tuesday of next week, when the front will move through bringing scattered showers, but the cool down behind this front should not be dramatic by any stretch.

In the tropics, tropical storm Oscar is over Cuba and will be absorbed by a front by midweek, and other than that, the tropics should be quiet for the next seven days.
