Massive head-on crash Sat night (7-8pm) between two drivers on Connecticut Ave in front of Politics and Prose. Not sure how it happened but it looked very serious. Hope all involved are safe.
This serves as yet another tragic reminder that Connecticut Ave is one of the most dangerous streets in DC, and that it is in dire need of a road diet. Sadly, our mayor thought it wise to walk back her commitment to adding protected bike lanes to Conn Ave, which are proven to slow speeds and make roads safer for all users (but perhaps less convenient for MD commuters who only care about getting in and out of our city as fast as possible).”
