Teen dies after being shot and crashing into utility pole in Jennings

JENNINGS — A teen has died after being shot and crashing into a utility pole Saturday night in Jennings, according to St. Louis County police.

Officers responded to a call at 6:07 p.m. about a car crash in the 7000 block of Dawson Place. They found a boy suffering from a life-threatening gunshot injury inside the car, which had struck a utility pole.

The teen was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police have not yet released the identity of the youth and will release more details when available.
