MAHONING TWP., Pa. – Following the debut of three new Starbucks cafes in Bethlehem, another regional location of the coffee shop chain is now serving up pumpkin spice lattes, caramel macchiatos and vanilla sweet cream cold brew.
Starbucks' newest regional location opened Nov. 1 at 1279 Blakeslee Blvd. Drive East in Mahoning Township, Carbon County.
The new, stand-alone location is operating at the site of a former PNC Bank branch in the Carbon Plaza.
An existing Starbucks location inside the nearby Giant supermarket continues to operate.
“Starbucks is always looking for great locations to better meet the needs of our customers,” a Starbucks spokesperson said in a written statement.
The new Starbucks location features in-store seating and drive-thru service.
It joins more than a dozen other regional stores, including three new Bethlehem locations at Wind Creek Bethlehem’s food court (opened Oct. 14), 2675 Easton Ave. (opened Sept. 26) and 2409 Schoenersville Road (Aug. 16).
Additionally, new Starbucks locations opened in June on Brown Street in East Stroudsburg and December on Sullivan Trail in Forks Township.
Another regional location is planned for Sullivan Trail in Plainfield Township.
Starbucks, connecting with millions of customers daily in more than 80 markets, opened its first store - offering fresh-roasted coffee beans, tea and spices from around the world - in Seattle's historic Pike Place Market in 1971.
The business' name was inspired by the classic Herman Melville novel “Moby-Dick,” evoking the seafaring tradition of the early coffee traders. In the 1851 tale, Starbuck was the name of the first mate on the whaling ship Pequod.
Today, Starbucks has more than 39,000 locations worldwide and serves up a vast selection of specialty drinks, including hot and cold coffee drinks such as caramel macchiato, white chocolate mocha and iced hazelnut oatmeal shaken espresso; Frappuccino blended beverages such as vanilla bean crème and mocha cookie crumble; and Starbucks Refreshers, made with fruit juice and lightly caffeinated with green coffee extract, such as mango dragonfruit and strawberry acai.
There are also seasonal drinks such as pumpkin cream cold brew and apple crisp oat milk macchiato; and food offerings such as breakfast sandwiches and wraps, lunch sandwiches and various bakery items.
