Two people trapped inside a vehicle after an accident at S.R. 63 and Durkees’s Ferry Road were extricated and treated for their injuries Thursday morning, Vigo County Chief Deputy Steve Meng reported.
Deputies were dispatched at approximately 7:30 a.m. to State Road 63 and Durkees’s Ferry Road in reference to a two vehicle crash with injuries. Once on scene deputies, found the first vehicle on fire, but the driver was out of the vehicle.
Two people were trapped inside the second vehicle. Fire and rescue personnel were able to get the injured passengers extricated from the vehicle, and the injured were taken to Union Hospital for medical treatment.
The cause of the crash appeared to be failure to yield to oncoming traffic.
The investigation is ongoing.
