He drove onto I-59 South/I-20 East to a state trooper working construction safety and said he had been shot.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - A man shot over the weekend in Birmingham managed to find a state trooper on an interstate to get help.

Birmingham Police say the man was shot Nov. 3 just before 9 p.m. in the 8600 block of 1st Avenue North.

He drove onto I-59 South/I-20 East to a state trooper working construction safety and said he had been shot.

The man was taken to UAB Hospital by Birmingham Fire Rescue. Police say he has non-life threatening injuries.
