Human Remains Were Found in the Woods in Jay on Saturday

The initial hope was that the remains, found on Saturday morning in the woods of Jay, belonged to Kimberly Moreau, who's been missing since 1986. But when authorities began their investigation, they discovered the remains belonged to a male. Now, the Chief Medical Examiner's Office is working to try and identify the person.

It was a disappointment for a family that has had years of sadness. Kimberly Moreau, 17, was last seen in Jay at about midnight on May 9, 1986, in the company of someone she had met earlier that day. She has never been seen since and police say foul play is suspected.

A Psychic Sent the Girl's Family to a Spot Where They Discovered a Man's Body

Kimberly's father told WGME-TV that a friend with psychic abilities had led them to the spot where the remains were found. The psychic has been working with the Moreaus for five years and Kimberly's father says they were out together in Jay and the woman directed them to the woods near Elm Street. When the family checked out the spot she'd talked about, just two streets from their home, they found the remains. Their hopes soared until they learned that the deceased was a man. Mr. Moreau told WGME-TV that the discovery elicited mixed emotions. While he's disappointed that it's not his daughter, he feels relief that the person's family will finally have the closure he has never found.

We'll update this story when more details about the remains become available.
