PETTIS CO., Mo. (KCTV) - A 19-year-old driver was seriously injured after his car flipped multiple times along a Missouri highway east of Whiteman Air Force Base.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol indicates that around 6:10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, emergency crews were called to the area of Missouri Highway Y and Curtis Rd., about 9 miles east of Whiteman Airforce Base with reports of a single-vehicle collision.

When first responders arrived, they said they found Vincente Rodriguez Cabrera, 19, of La Monte, had been driving his 2016 Nissan east on the highway when he veered off the roadway to the left.

State Troopers noted that the Nissan hit a ditch which caused it to flip multiple times. Rodriguez Cabrera, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time, was taken by personal vehicle to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Law enforcement officials said the Nissan was totaled during the collision. No further information has been released.
