LOVELAND, Ohio —

A Loveland man has been charged with murder after a 4-month-old died after allegedly falling from a changing table, according to court documents.

Court records indicate Andrew Kammer, 33, has been charged with aggravated murder and aggravated assault.

An affidavit filed in Clermont County Municipal Court says Goshen Township police were dispatched to a home around 6:50 a.m. Monday in the 1500 block of Meadowbrook Drive for a report of a 4-month-old experiencing breathing problems from a fall.

Officials say the infant was initially transported to Bethesda North Hospital before being transferred to Cincinnati Children's, and placed on life support.

Court records say an MRI showed a "substantial" amount of hemorrhaging around the brain of the child.

According to officials, Kammer told police at the hospital that he was changing the infant's diaper when they fell off a changing table. Kammer told officials that he picked the child up, who was face down on the floor, called 911 and began CPR as instructed by dispatchers until first responders arrived.

Court documents say an autopsy, conducted on Tuesday, found "significant internal trauma," to the brain, spinal column and liver of the infant.

Officials say the injuries found during the autopsy were inconsistent with an accidental fall and were non-accidental.
