An alleged cop killer in Chicago was pictured apparently foaming at the mouth in a mugshot released by authorities on Wednesday.
Darion McMillian, 23, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder after a traffic stop turned deadly in the Chatham section of the city on Monday night, according to the Chicago Police Department.
In his mugshot, McMillian can be seen bearing a zombie-like mane with white foam framing his gaping mouth.
At a Wednesday press conference, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx announced the charges against McMillian in the death of officer Enrique Martinez and the driver of a car.
McMillian was in the passenger seat during the stop, which cops say was required after the vehicle was blocking traffic, according to CPD.
During the stop, officers noticed that McMillian reached for something in a bag that was by his feet, cops say.
That’s when McMillian pulled out an automatic pistol and allegedly opened fire — killing officer Enrique Martinez and the driver of the car, according to the Chicago Police Department.
The alleged killer then pushed the bullet-ridden driver out the car door and climbed into the driver’s seat, attempting to flee the scene, cops say.
McMillian crashed the car and ran into an apartment building — where he removed an ankle monitor with a knife, authorities allege.
He was arrested 10 minutes later, according to WGN9.
A backseat passenger who was in the vehicle Monday was also arrested but later released without being charged.
