The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash that occurred Monday morning near 56000 Oasis Road. A King City man was driving a 1993 Jeep Wrangler on a private property heading west at an unknown speed. For an unknown reason, the Jeep drifted toward the left as the left front wheel drove up onto a metal support post for a cattle guard, according to a CHP media release. The Jeep then overturned and hit the dirt road before coming to a rest on its left side.The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the Jeep, suffering blunt force head trauma, per CHP. The man was declared dead on the scene. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in this crash. The man was identified as 55-year-old Cyril James Barbree.
